I'm with Anna and Carol - I have no idea detox was dangerous. I definitely would have sought medical advice.
UBC I dunno about Carol or Anna but I just realised one day I was destined to die the way I was living, and I found (to my surprise) that I had a pretty intense desire not to do that just yet..
Once I accepted I was an alcoholic and that every drink was a step closer to the Big Sleep, I started to make some progress....
I might write my story up one of these days
