TOPIC: Looking For A Safety Net
Hi Im Sharon and im an alcoholic.
By the grace of my HP and people
like you here in SR I havent found
it necessary to pick up a drink of
"POISON" since 8-11-90.
For that and you I am truely grateful.
When you were born you trusted
those loved ones to be there for
you each step of the way as you
grew.
We were to get that love and care
to guide and protect us just like
a safety net there to catch us if
we fall.
Did u have that safety net to catch
u when u were growing up? Or
did you go out looking for safety
or security in all the wrong people,
places and things like I did?
I had working, church going, well
know to the community family and
yet i lived in a dysfunctional family.
One parent sick with a dr. jeckel
mr. hyde personality and very
verbally and physically abusive
to me. Very controling and instilled
fear in every ounce of my being.
I moved on in my yrs looking for
security or a safety net in many
and never found true happiness.
I eventually got sober in 90 and
over the past 19 yrs. lived and
worked the steps of my awesome
program to guide me and strengthen
me to where i finally found that
safety net.
Honesty and trust has lead me to
an awesome reward and gift provided
from my HP.
Several yrs ago my search for that
security net was over. Today from
living the AA way of life, my sober
life is now rewarding. The promises
are continueing to come true for me.
Where is ur safety net? Or how safe
is ur safety net?
