Well, I think it's neither. Mouthwash is a hygiene product that some people misuse.

During active addiction, a lot of people will drink the most unbelievable stuff just to get a buzz. I've heard of certain "cocktails" that make mouthwash pale in comparison.

For what it's worth, I usually stick to alcohol-free MW.

I hope your co-worker finds the help he needs.
