If I chose to watch a train-wreck show, I would choose something like 'The Real Housewives of Orange County', at least they volunteer to sell their dysfunction and are not tricked into it for the explicit intent of money and ratings by exploiting the still suffering addict.
Having been there/done that, I agree. An intervention is for the family, not the addict.
