Welcome to SR. I don't use AA or a 12 step program, and I'm one of the "so called athiests" you're targeting in your intro speech, though I never bash AA because of my beliefs. Luckily there's lots of options out there when people want to get and stay sober, and I found mine when others didn't work for me
