IMO you have to be sober to relapse otherwise you just had a drink...sobriety to me as i am in AA is having worked all the steps and continuing to do so on a daily basis, have a close conscious contact with your HP, helping others etc...stop doing all that and then drink, yeah then its a relapse i guess...
