Welcome. Regarding diagnoses, it is very difficult for a therapist to accurately diagnose an addict while they are using, especially if they are not honest about their using. Addiction symptoms can mimic a whole range of psychiatric illnesses, as can the initial withdrawal and postacute withdrawal stages of recovery.
