Fought off temptation last night
Last night was Friday, my day to get my beer, wine, or liquor for the weekend. I saw that they had a winter seasonal ale out, I had it last year, and I really wanted it. Almost to the point of going back to the store and getting it. I'd have one last hurrah, then hit the reset button back to sobriety.
Then I realized it doesn't work that way. I can't say, "Oh, well, I just want some of this seasonal ale, then I'll get sober."
I'll never have a good Bordeaux again, or another bottle of Moet and Chandon, or a boutique Spanish sherry. It's ok. I'd probably drink the whole thing and get snot-faced.
I have faced temptation and fought it. I'd rather be sober.
