I'm only on day 15 this time around, but when my drinking was really bad 2 1/2 years ago I couldn't stop without medical help. It helped me get through the worst and it was controlled. I had the shakes, the tremors, the hallucinations, etc. and I was given medication to help with all that. Luckily I did not seizure, but I saw it happen. I was only given the meds for a few days and there was no side effect or wanting to take more. If you feel you can't do it, rather than have that beer, please let your wife take you to get help.
