Considering the millions upon millions of alcoholics and addicts out there, I'd have to say the odds of them, as a group, sharing personality traits that are not a direct result of addiction, are about the same as those which astrologers profess for people born under a certain "sign".
In case there is any doubt, let me be clear that astrology is nonsense. I am no more likely to share personality traits with someone else born as a Taurus than any random person off the street. Same goes for sharing traits with other alcoholics.
