I remember noticing "something" at my very first meeting, "something" that other people there had, people who had been through worse than I had and who appeared calm, at peace and happy.
I didn't know what it was, but I knew that I wanted what they had. I was told that if I just listen and do what has worked for them, that I too could find this inner peace called serenity.
"Came to
believe that a power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity".
I began to believe, I traveled in faith, even blind faith some days but faith nonetheless. I knew that MY way didn't work, I had nothing to lose because I had already lost my self and my soul, so I just believed what I saw and what they told me.
This was the beginning of my new life, the life that is worth living, and I will always be grateful for those who showed me the light.
