You just hit the nail on the head with this statement. How can you be there for the people who need you and APPRECIATE you if you have given all of your emotional resources to someone who resents you for doing it. It does make us sick. Mentally, physically, emotionally. It would be a terrible shame for your daughter to lose both of her parents to alcoholism. One as a direct result of the disease and the other as collateral damage.
