hi chick..Takes a lot of courage to say "cant stop when i start" and that is probably the most important thing you can do.

Admitting to myself and others that i have a problem with booze was the foundation stone to my recovery. The start if you like.

These are some of the things i did in the beginning that were suggetsed to me.

1. Go the the doctor...explain whats been happening and what you intend to do about it.
2. Try to eat well if you can and drink plenty of water.
3. Try to stay away from stressfull situations...hard sometimes but important.
4. Dont go to bars....even for soft drinks or coffee....if i go the the barbers eventually im gonna get a hair cut!
5. Try aa and take a look at the twelve steps or read the big book.
6. important....have regular contact with other drinkers in recovery.
7. Take it easy...be good to yourself...have some quiet time to read or just chill out.

These suggetions helped me in the begining.

I wont suggest its easy because sometimes it can get uncomfortable but a time will come when you dont want a drink.

My life is so much happier and fulfilling without alcohol and i dont miss it.

Let us know how your getting on.....god bless
