My ( probably wrong ) understanding was a thread lasted 500 posts, although the 6 month and under thread got to 518 before being closed.
Its the important issues in life .....................................
Fizzy sometimes the admins get busy all over the forum and if something is coming up close-they just save time and do it then-
There are not that many of us Greeters,Chat Mods, Admins, Forum leaders as there are members....so it is just easier that way
