FD- very inspirational. I have to admit I depended a lot on my STBXAH. When we moved away from the place where I grew up, and had a good job, I became a stay at home mom for a few years. But- I always did freelance. Over the years he lost 3 good jobs and each time he got a new one his salary went down. So, I started working. I've always had the drive to work and the desire to save and be responsible, but it's hard when your SO is going through money like water. Now that I am divorcing him I am back on track in trying to get more financially stable. It's hard, and scary sometimes, but I know I will be ok. And, I have a financial advisor for the first time to help me get to where I want to be. Knowing what my options are and being my own advocate have done wonders for my self-esteem.
