I've seen it given out for anxiety lots...seems to help calm some people down. I use it for sleep; I can comiserate with your daughter "slowing down". If I took it in the day, I'd be nodding off...
Never, ever, noticed weight gain. Dosage could change that, but I don't know. Perhaps a look a the dosage being taken could help. One more thing: when I stop using Seroquel, I don't sleep for a night at least. So there's something to consider
