I Got A Sponsor and am Working Step One
As the fog lifts and things get a little clearer, I'm beginning to feel positive about 'recovery' as opposed to just quitting.
I have listened to the advice I've received and gone back to AA.
AND I have a sponsor! This is a person whom I connect with and feel comfortable with. I admire her success with sobriety and feel very confident about our budding friendship.
I am also working on step one. First time ever! I've been in and out of AA, and despite KNOWING I was an alcoholic, I don't know that I ever accepted it. So I didn't ever work the steps.
But today is day 25 and I'm seeing things a wee bit differently. I'm hopeful that I don't have to white-knuckle all of my future sobriety. I am hopeful that I will learn to have a willingness to find my problems. I am hopeful that I will be able to acknowledge them and find the courage to face them and work on them.
Bottom line, today I am hopeful....and grateful!
