Agreed. I wrote that article some time ago, but I still hold the same view. My point is simply that we each have a part to play in the positive changes we desire. It's kinda like what my mom used to say: "God helps those who help themselves." Even in the NA literature it says God will not do everything for us. I can relate to how trying to change can sometimes backfire, but for me, the willingness and action to change is what counts the most.
