Beautifully stated Trisha...There are so many wonderful recovering addicts here who have given back so much. I know addiction is cunning and baffling and sometimes even the addict does not know "why." But even that, hearing it from a recovering addict, helps me. It helps me to separate the disease from the person and I know I have grown in compassion as i grow in recovery. The hope, the honesty, the sharing...it all helps us heal. I tend to think that codie-ism is pretty prevalent among addicts too, so I hope the benefits are mutual. Sr's an awesome community!
