My experience with GPs and alcoholism is this. They gave me Valium (or a derivative) to taper with. I found that the Valium mixed quite well with Vodka !
Just detoxing is only a start. The work really begins after you detox. Do you have a plan ?
They told me to go to AA nad IOP. I din't. Guess whathappened ?
Don't have a plan as such but it needs to be better than my last 300 plans, which have all failed miserably at various stages.
Will play this one by ear and see what the doc says, for me the major hurdle is (yet again
) the detox stage.
Will keep you all posted how it goes.
