I will probably tick everyone off-just my opinion. My uncle (now deceased) was a neurosugeon-national license-Canada, and Europe. He always said back pain is unreal. About 40 yrs. ago when you could get a permanet (sp wrong)script he gave me one for pain-natural childbirth was less pain. Sounds like he is in severe pain and over medicating. I called my aunt-who had another dr. call me-get him to a pain clinic-they work miracles!!!!! I know it is tough for you and my heart goes out to you. Just maybe the pain clinic will be of help.
