Sounds like strong recovery words.
Today at Easter Service one of the things we were asked to do is to respect the dignity of others.. and we all answered "I will with the Help of God.."
I look ar our Addicts and think we must allow them the dignity of finding there own path through the consequences of their own actions. We must allow them the dignity to make this discovery, and for us to continue to enable them and not allow them this is to take away their dignity.
The sooner they find out they must take care of themselves in their addiction and we no longer will do it for them, the sooner they may be allowed the dignity to live their lives the way they want to, either continuing on the path of active addiction or through recovery. The choice is their choice not ours..
Our choice must be to retain our own dignity by taking care of ourselves and, if we have them, our children.
