I have a really good friend who is living in an Oxford House right now. He is such an inspiration today... especially if you were to know him "back then". He was scary.
I think he has lived at Oxford for almost a year now... I know that it is the only way that he could have survived living in a big city and also stay in recovery... and he needed desperately to be away from his old friends and habits, too, and to get to live with some new people who are at least mainly composed of people trying to do the same thing.
He's matured a lot. That's the best way to describe it.
I think it is a very special program and I know my friend and his family are so grateful for it.
