Toshia Humphries

Toshia Humphries is a writer, and artist in Lubbock, Texas. She has been writing for two decades and possesses two Master's Degrees from Texas Tech University, one a Master's of Education in Counseling and the other, a Master's of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies with a tri-level focus in Women's Studies, Addictions, and Counseling. She earned her Bachelor's in Psychology with a double minor in English and Substance Abuse from the same school. Additionally, Toshia has received specialized training and experience in addictions, substance abuse, and prevention at the Center for the Study of Addiction and Recovery at Texas Tech University. There she co-facilitated life skills and process groups for kids and college students and co-authored a curriculum for life skills programs for teens.   Toshia is the author of two books available on Amazon: Today is the Day to Sparkle: Daily Affirmations for Those Who Need to Find Their Shine (2016), and The Sky Was All Purple: A Collection of Love for Prince (2017). She is also the talk radio co-host of Girl Power Hour on Blog Talk Radio, and the creator of Threads Locks & Rock—a performance art show which utilizes personal experiences and stories to inspire each show and its performers, healing and empowering them and audience members alike. Much of her work is fueled by her own life experience and education.
