| Other people's moods
I used to feel like cork in the middle of the ocean. I would tossed to and fro, up and down and nearly drowned, by other peoples' moods. I hated it and knew intellectually what I had to do, but still felt helpless to change. For me, it's one of the many benefits of recovery. The longer I am in recovery, the more at peace I feel with myself. And, the more comfortable I feel with myself, the less other people get to me. I have found a place within myself that I love.
