My 16 year old son is now speaking to me! He broke up with his girlfriend and wants to go on a date with some girl here. I have to teach him he can love his mom and a girlfriend too! I just didnot want to be grandmother yet,so I talked to him about getting to involved. He was soooo angry with me and illrational. He wants to see me too, I think he missed me |

Thank you! My kids do have a nice streak and are very bright, but like with everyone they have thier moments. My older son is still arguing over the money I spent on his birthday last year. Ispent $400 overall, but if it's not cold hard cash,he does not see it that way. So this time, I let him win the argument. I only told him how muchI spent on him because he was complaining that he was underloved and Ispent more onthe other kids. He loves money,so I do hope he becomes a banker one day! |

Zoom - that is great news. I am happy the kid came to his senses. Grades are important, not just because of college and stuff but I think it is so important to a kids self esteem. I know it was to mine. When I started drinking and doing drugs and hanging out with a different crowd and I went from honor roll to c, d's, and f's it hurt my self esteem alot! I try so hard with Pauls kids to help them understand what doing good in school means. I have even started bribing them with money if they do good, hey it worked last semester, they came here for the weekend and each knew how much money they earned!! Sometimes I think bribery works!!!

Now, Now Pauly, it's not bribery,it's behavior modification! LOL!!! I had to use beahvior modification to get my daughter to get her shot yesterday. Hey, every one likes money, so who is anyone kidding when they sy don't bribe your kids with money! They only thing is, is that you have to be carful how much because it gets exspencive. I personally bribe my kids with outing, clothes books... I don't give out allounces because buy them what they want. Now, there lunch money is different. We give them a certain amount each week and that's that. If they chose to skip lunch to save money, then they are learning economics (I always make sure I have snack food for them to bring to school). Here in the school, they have a lunch bank where you put in a certain amount of money in the kids account and the kids enter thier pin number and take money out of the account. Well, my daughter who is 12 likes to buy all her friends a treat, so we found if we give her money each day or money forthe week, she is more frugle. Besides, I think the school is making money having all the kids put money into an account,or some bank is. Think of all the interest if 4000 kids put in $50 a month! That would be $20,000 then take the interest of say 3% I think that would be $600 then invest that. Anyway it goes on and on... No one likes to brown bag it any more unless the kids deside to start a new fad. Now I'm all mixed up again to what to do with my boys. It's always back and forth! hey your a good st mom. My hubby is good with the boys, although they don't respect him like they should. Ha, if there is math homework with the boys, my hubby does it, and I help with the english homework. Ha, as much as I can! LOL!!!
