Hi all, I thought I would share my little story. Having made a new friend through AA who I really trust, I didn't think twice about confessing to her that I was having one of my totally inappropriate crushes (usually last a week at most) not unlike those that I used to have while drinking. This freaked me out and I wanted to purge about it hoping I could have some sense talked into me as well. I don't trust these things and they drive me silly. She is the only friend, apart from my sponsor, who I tell stuff to. For some reason, I don't even know why, I decided to purge to her. Anyway, I thought it best to call her and just blurt it out: "I have a crush on ____" "Oh no" she answered. "What? Is he married?" I asked. "No, he's my boyfriend" OMG Apparently, it's a new relationship and supposed to be a secret. "I was trying to work out how to tell you" she said. My explanation came so fast I don't know how she understood a word I said. Well, she thinks it's just hilarious and doesn't mind one bit, but of course I am still blushing a little. I don't have that crush anymore, so I guess it worked. |

Dolphin, I have a funny story (although not so funny at the time) for you. There was a guy I had been dating for several months, and we were getting kind of serious so at Thanksgiving I went home with him to meet his family. We were sitting in the living room talking, and in the door comes this guy I had bascially a one night stand with before I'd started dating the guy I was with. Well, it turned out they were brothers. When he came in he didn't know at first that I was with his brother, and gave me a pretty fond greeting, which caused much curiosity with everyone in the room, particularly my date, his brother. My guy was pretty jealous about it, and it was definitely a first for me. The phrase, "It's a small world," definitely applied to this situation. Juls |

OMG Juls, I don't know how I would've coped! I would definitely have been pulling on some resourses I didn't even know of. The parents for the first time is enough to make me nervous. But that is just too much...and a 'fond greeting' lol I can just imagine it, is that like a 'fondling'? |

Yep, a fondling is what I'd call it. I didn't have a chance to say anything before he came over and gave me a big hug and a kiss with tongue. Ugh. My boyfriend and I had a big fight later, but hey, what's the chance of something like that happening. They didn't even live in the same town. We broke up after a year, so he's been long out of the pictureand I can laugh about the whole thing now. Hey, maybe this will start a thread about crazy date and crush stories. I used to get intense crushes on guys too. My "crush of the month," so to speak. LOL Right now I have a crush on my accupuncurist. Nothing inappropriate, but he's so sweet and gentle and kind, and when I go for an appointment I always leaving feeling so relaxed and calm. Juls |

haha it just gets funnier But so cringeworthy (is that a word?) at the same time. It's funny you should mention your acupuncturist. I had a heart scan done earlier this week and of course I had a good-looking guy to do the job, which made me incredibly self-conscious. These things always happen to me. Anyway, I had to strip down and wear a gown 'with the opening at the front, please' and it didn't matter how I tried, everything fell out while I climbed onto the stretcher. Then he dimmed the lights so he could see the screen better. I had to lie on my side with my back to the screen and the only way he could reach my heart was to put his arm around me while he was sitting on the edge of the bed. He was really gentle. Well, that was it for me...the soft lighting, the gentle touch and the whole heart thing was really getting to me but I knew I would have problems hiding it lol I mean, the guy was watching my heart vavles for Christ's sake. Somehow I managed though. It was all quite appropriate on the outside, it was just my head that was in fantasy land! And my heart...well, I put the skipped beats down to my murmur lol hope it's an accurate reading. |
