...and I just came home from a meeting. It is nothing less than a miracle that I am not drinking and using tonight...and haven't found it necessary to do so one day at time for almost 2.5 years. Fridays were like a "holy" day for me...woohoo party, except the party with me locked in my bedroom in isolation ~ ignoring my then husband, and our two daughters...snorting coke and then drinking to try to come down and then getting high and the same insanity over and over again. I never have to wake up with a hangover again if I choose to not pick up a drink or a mind altering substance, again one day at time. I'm so very grateful that I was given the gift of desperation and given this very precious gift of sobriety.
