When I get my period, I'm nearly uncontrollable. I got arrested and was booked but not charged (for being drunk in public or whatever). I do beading. And I’ve been busting my butt on this bracelet for a gift for a party (AA party, mind you). I had three tubes of beads (very obvious) and had my six FEET of thread wrapped around the three tubes --in a plastic baggie. Damned if the police didn’t pick it all apart and the six feet of thread is now wrapped around my hairbrush. WHY? I realize I was a piece of crap and as soon as my husband can do his job thing, my butt is back in rehab. But I’m just in tears over this bracelet thing. My husband patiently sat and picked the entire thing apart, but I think it’s a royal loss.

I'm really sorry to hear that you're drinking. And I'm sorry about the bracelet because I know you put a lot of time and effort into it, but maybe this happened for a reason. You were making it for someone in AA, and this is just me, but it seems contradictory: getting busted for public intox and complaining that the police ruined your bracelet. I know you're in pain right now, but I really think you should go to a meeting or call someone in recovery. You're worth so much more than this. You can get well. Please keep coming back.

I'm in meetings almost every day. WTF is wrong with me? I KNOW I'm a normal person in here. It's not like I've been drunk for 29 years and can't remember what NORMAL is.

I've been feeling disconnected myself, and have been struggling.

You know the score -- keep going to those meetings and try to stay sober a day at a time. Make sure you're not trying to do it on your own - from my own experience, that's where I always get into trouble. keep coming hon and don't give up.
