Hi Tina,

Welcome! We have a great bunch of women here in the Women in Recovery forum and you'll find lots of support.

Congratulations on 10 sober months and I'm sorry you relapsed last night. This journey is not easy and I think there are always ups and downs. I'm not sure why you might have relapsed. The stumbling block for me was feeling good. By that I mean, when I'd begin to feel good and think that maybe this could work, anxiety would creep back into my mind. I knew how to feel bad, I'd felt that way most of my life. Feeling good, on the other hand, was something new and kind of scary. I still have to work on convincing myself that I deserve to be happy. Or maybe you have a lot of stress in your life right now or maybe you felt confident that you could control yourself.

The main thing is to move forward and carry on. You have ten great months to build on, so you can do this.

Welcome to SR. and welcome to WIR. You will find alot of love and support here.

Don't beat yourself up over the relapse. Pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and start again.

please don't let yourself believe that one relapse is the end for you. i honestly don't know anyone who hasn't stumbled, although i'm sure they are out there. pick it up and move on. i'm glad you posted on here though, there are a lot of women here who are going through the same things you are. keep your head up. don't give up. keep posting and let us know how you are doing. we are here for you.

Hi Tina
I hope you are feeling a little better by this evening, and I hope that you got yourself to a meeting. I've relapsed myself, most recently this past July. I was very very discouraged and ashamed of myself afterwards, but I just had to believe that I could do it. After all the rooms were full of recovering men and women; what made me think that I couldn't do it too? Sobriety can be a rollercoaster of emotions, can't it? Do you have a sponsor? Call her! If not, get one. Reach out to others and accept the help that they offer. You don't have to do this alone. *Don't leave before the miracle happens* love yourself unconditionally and trust that all will be well.
God Bless
Love Rowan
p.s. and keep posting! let us know how you are doing
