| First time here
Hi this is my first time to any type of online recovery chat rooms. I have 8 months clean, just finished outpaitent recovery but still attend meetings in my town. My drug of choice is meth. I have been using since i was 17 and for the past 4 years used every day. My husband was sentenced to 12 years for manufacturing and I am trying to get my 5 yr old son back from DCFS.

welcome and please stick around, there is not much you will go through that someone on here hasn't had to tough out and can give you some guidance. my ex is in DOC for the same thing, meth and oxycontin were my downfalls and i just got my baby back. keep on the path that you are on and you'll be ok. keep posting.

Hello Coartney and Welcome!!! This is my first time here as well and I wanted to asked the women for some support. Due to reasons that are no longer healthy and safe for me and my children I'm planning to relocate after the first of the year. I'm frightened because I'm leaving the state and under totally undesirable conditions. I know once I get were I'm going,(I don't know a soul in this particular city), me and my children will have to stay in a shelter( That is if we can get in quickly or at all!) or stay in a hotel until our funds are exhausted (which won't take much) But I refuse to turn back and stay here because as a mother I have to do what is best for me and my children and I want to remain sober!!! So please ladies e-mail me with some input and truly keep me and my children in your prayers!! Thanks for your time ladies!!

Ohiosta, Welcome! It sounds like you've been going through a really difficult situation. And, it sounds like you've made the right, but very hard choice to make it on your own in a safe place for you and your kids. Good for you! I know how scary it is to move to a city where you don't know anyone, I've done it many times myself. Since you have kids, that is a good way to get to know people. If they are preschool age try to find out what activities there are in the community for kids or just greet other mothers at the park while your kids are playing. If they are in school, then that is a great place to meet other moms and help out at the school at the same time. I wish you well!
