Day 5!!! - SoberRecovery : Alcoholism Drug Addiction Help and Information

Wow- I cant beleive it!! I have made it to day 5. Unbeleivable really. I think the last time I went this long was probably when I had bronchitis last year around new years. Even then I probably still drank!! hahaha. Boyfriend is still using, but he wont be one for long anyhow. Tonight is usually a big drinking night for me, so this will be sort of weird,but I already have a box of fried chicken waiting for me in my fridge,and then I will get soem movies and hopefully settle in in all this cold weather.Cold weather gets me DOWN.It really limits outdoor activities for me as I am NOT a cold person,which makes me feel "blah". Any suggestions for those of you who live year round in colder than usual conditions on how to get a little physical activity in?????

Yesssssssssssssssss Badkitty! I live in the cold and snow and I'm orginally from California. Burrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Hey pass the chicken my way! What I do is stay the hell in doors as much as possible. I do tryand take my kids sledding when we have nough snow, but to go out in it just to prove a point, no way! Ha, the bus drivers here think I'm a bad mother because i don't go t the bus stop to wait for my kids (only two doors down i might add). I wait inside and look out my front window and when I see the bus, I go out on the front porch. If I'm in the wind wthout a hat or get chilled to the bone I get sick and ther goes my hearing for a long time. I do go to the mall lot just to get out of the house and walk someplace warm. I read a lot, and go on the compute a lot! I hope I helped.

You are doing great. I live in CA...can't help you with the snow stuff, but can tell you that I am FREEZING in CA LOL!!!

Get a Big Book from an AA meeting, curl up in a blanket with some hot cocoa and start reading!! you will enjoy every word, or at least you will learn alot, I promise.

where abouts are you from in California? Im originally from the los angeles area but moved out to North Carolina a few years ago. I am really not used to all this cold weather and to top it off my car is very old (ive had it for 7 yrs) and there is no heat!! UGH!! Try driving to work at about 6:30 am in the cold with no heat. Yuck. Luckily I live very close to work. Im thinking about doing the mall thing, just to get a little walking in. When I am stressed (which I have been a bit for the past 5 days) I usualy excercise by riding my bike or going for a walk on the beach(well, and then after that reach for about 12 cold ones). But now it feels like neither one of those is an option. Oh summer - please return to us !!! hehehe. :hamburger

I am in Northern CA, about 45 mintues north of San Francisco! When I saw on the news last night that our nights are going to be between 38 and 42 all next week,I got the chills. that is COLD for where I live!!!

We had snow one day last year, last maybe an inch or 2 on the ground, enought for the kids to build small snowmen and play in - but the town SHUT DOWN. Schools closed and everything, we don't do cold very well around here, and snow. we dont' do that AT ALL!

Hey you guys I'm from Long beach CA and the first time I went to sanfrancisco, i think it was in a different land because it was so cold to me. Ha, i use to drive a mo-ped to work! ha, pauline too funny about the whole town shutting down! Our first snow fall here and everyone is stupid for a day until they can get into the winter mold. I'm waiting on my hubby to get home so I can do the shopping thing! It'smy time to get out by myself! I just love to walk around and talk to people, O and shop when I have money!
