I've been chasing Butterfly's! lol

Hey ya'll! Long time no see! I've been so busy lately, been chasing them butterfly's! lol (kidding)
I've missed ya'll!

I've just been working (as always) staying busy, in fact my child keeps me busy more than my job does! lol

Guess what....June 2oth, I was officially off Probation!!! I did it!! I did it!! I did my 2 yrs PO! No prob! I mean I knew deep down that I would, but when it's all said & done, I feel really good about my self. ya know ...acomplishing something. Feels good.
You can betcha booty's that I'll never put myself there again!! NO WAY! lol
I sure did learn a lesson....."Just don't do drugs" simple...huh? lol

about 4 months ago, my BF surprised my daughter & I with a Bunny Rabbit!! Yup, a rabbit! hahahahaha, I've NEVER had a rabbit before, let alone know anything about them or how you raise them, or anything!
I didn't want the thing at 1st. But how could I resist this little tiny white ball of fur with floppy ears. My bf, build her a BIG cage, & so we kept it out on our patio, let her out of the cage when we get home, let her hop around....well, I live in Texas & the weather here is scorching HOT!! 100 degress & humid! So, I couldn't let the bunny stay out there anymore, so now....the bunny hops around the house, my cats are finally getting along w/her, it's sooo cute. I even trained her to go the bathroom in her own litter box. She sleeps with me...it's crazzzy! I've always been a cat person & those of you who know me here, know that about me!
Does anyone here know anything about rabbits, maybe you could fill me in, but I never thought I'd ever have a rabbit!
My bf got him from a guy he works with, the guy raises them to either eat them (Yuck! or sells them to pet stores, Eata rabbit??????????????????????? what the???? OMG! gross, poor things!

I'm at work right now so I have to go, I just wanted to check in!
Love ya's ALL!

Greetings from SE TX where it is also 100 and hot as the hubs of hades! I don't know a lot about rabbits except from what I learned on the animal planet channel on tv. Be CAREFUL what you clean floors with and shampooing carpets--just use vinegar and water on bare/wood floors--and try to find an organic carpet shampoo--animals that are low to the ground like bunbun can become very ill from the chemicals in household cleaners. It can even kill them. I'd love to have one of those GIANT bunnies--but, I've got so many dogs I'm afraid something could happen to it. I'd also LOVE to have a pot bellied pig--but I've heard they can be mean--and the "discharge" from the back end stinks to high heaven...Neighbors probably wouldn't appreciate that!

Hey BC! Good to see you and congrats!!

I've had many bunnies and it sounds like your doing everything right, they are great pets! Unfortunatly my dog likes them a bit to much, and I can no longer keep them, but I hope to get another someday.

Hi Butterfly,

That is super news - Congratulations! You should be very proud of yourself. And, I sure do know you're a cat person and hope your cats are doing well. Have fun with the bunny!

Love, Anna

Hi ButterflyChaser...congratulations on the new edition to your family. I got my first rabbit in 99. Same thing, littered trained, got along with the dogs and cats. I used to let him hop around my patio, but the pool guy came one day and left the door open and I never saw babes again . Anyways this past easter my boyfriend told me he had a surprise for the kids and I came home to two rabbits. One was supposed to go home with his son and the other was ours for my daughter. Well his mother wouldn't let him have it. Or the dog my boyfriend bought the son. (note: She said dogs were too much work and gave it back, but now has three pitbulls...go figure) Anyways, at first I wasn't happy because I have to take care of the cats dog kids and my overgrown child B. But I remembered how much I loved my bunny. I'm glad I have them now (scooby & shaggy) I can tell you that you did the right thing litter training, my are trained too. I can't let them out at the same time because they are males and fight. Shaggy actually bit off a piece of scooby's ear through his cage last week. But they have scheduled play times. One is out during the day the other at night. The pellets they eat should only be a small part of their daily diet. Fresh fruits and veggies and hay should be their main staples. I make them a salad in the morning and one at night. Besides the basics (carrots and romaine) they absolutly LOVE Cilantro. They also like bananas and grapes but those have to be limited since bunnies have a sweet tooth! They also like cucumbers, arugala, corn, and spinach. One of my rabbits likes his salt wheel the other won't touch it. Hay is important too. Depending on the age. Younger rabbits should have alfalfa older ones should have timothy hay. The hay is essential in making smooth digestion. Anything else you'd like to know PM if you like. Oh and bunnies love wires. Luckily my computer was off when he chewed my keyboard mouse and power wire. I had them taped up too. The little bugger scratched them down!!! Good luck!
