I'm reaching out....

Hello Ladies,
I'm still farely new in this sight and I just wanted to say hi to everyone. When I first came into recovery I didn't reach out to the women. But I have found through the help of my sponcer and A.A. It is getting easier to do so. So ,,here I am reaching out and hope to find some great women I could reach out to. Hope to hear from you ,,,and thank-you for your support......Denise

Hi Denise
Welcome
I found that getting and staying sober was impossible for me to do, until I reached out to others.
I have also learned over the years that women bonding with one another is a powerful thing.
Looking forward to getting to know you.

Hi Denise,

I have been an addict for most of my life. Somehow I managed to keep that fact a secret from most of the people around me. When it came to recovery, I spent 10 years attempting it on my own. The result was a vicious cycle of detoxing, relapsing and using again.

It was not until I finally reached out that was I was able to begin the true process of recovery. In fact, right here at SR was the first time/place I ever said "I am an addict". The people here were so wonderful, it changed my life. Next I admitted it to my doctor, then to my loved ones, and finally to a group at NA meetings.

It's been a little over 2 months, and I have made more progress than I did in ten years of silence. This place has been a lifeline for me.

Reach out and keep reaching out. It's the only way.

I wish you stregth & courage to continue in your recovery. Just sharing here will help so much - help you, but also help countless others.

Much Love: SS

These ladies helped save my life and we have also shared much laughter. Some of my best friends in the world are here and I wouldn't recognize them if we stood in line next to each other in the grocery store.
They wouldn't know me either without the makeup, in jeans and scrubby t-shirt. But I think because we come from the same club we would smile at each other and maybe say Hi, how are you?

Thank-You all

I just want to thank everyone for their response. When I first came into A.A. I can honestly say I didn't get this much response. But then again, I didn't want anyone to talk to me or specially give me a hug. Today, I have found that unless I wanted to get better, I needed to start trusting people and humble myself and take that chip off my shoulder and ask for help. I'm still not perfect at it ...but I continue to practice it.
By practicing it , it gets easier...Thank-you again, hope to get to know all of you as I continue to reach out...Take Care and God Bless.....Denise

Denise
I meant to post a hello when I saw this for the first time and got distracted. I have 3 kids under the age of four so my life is hectic. Anyway hello and welcome. Keep posting. Remember we all learn from each other.
