Suggestions on spiritual/metaphysical reading? - SoberRecovery : Alcoholism Drug Addiction Help and Information

I'm looking to supplement my recovery reading with some spiritual/metaphysical material.

I don't believe in a religious god -- my sense of spirituality is anchored more in a sense of a universal life force rather than an all-knowing diety.

Does anyone have any titles to recommend?

Marianne Williamson - A Return to Love
Wayne Dyer - You'll See it When You Believe it, and Real Magic
Depak Chopra - the Seven Spiritual Laws of Success
Caroline Myss - Anatomy of the Spirit
Neale Donald Walsch - Conversations with God
Dali Lama - The Art of Happiness
Tich Nhat Hanh - True Love

Thomas Moore - Care Of The Soul

This series and other writings by Thomas Moore might just be right up you alley, GF. I know I got a lot out of them!

This one is lovely, and great read too, 'The way of the peaseful warrior' by Dan Millman Also 'Spiral Danse' by Starhawk and 'Grandmother Moon' by Zsussanna Budapest. ENJOY!

Many find Louise Hays books good but I find them rather naff.

I read a great deal and the two most important books I have found in a very long time are companions: Healthy Emotions and Destructive Emotions. I have found them so enlightening and healing I will be re-reading these for the rest of my life. I believe they can be found in most bookstores now. They are a study, a consortium of Western scientists in dialog with the Dalai Lama. It is not, however, a religious book. It is an exploration in health.
