| My nerves are on edge
Today is the first day with out drinking and my thirteen year old daughter is working my last nerve. She is ADHD and bouncing off the wall, I believe that she is doing it on purpose. I was doing just fine until she got home from school and ever since she has been loud, mouthy and dis respectable. I am putting her in her room for the rest of the evening. Sorry just had to vent for a moment.

Hi Gone, Day 1 is tough and you're bound to be tense and 13 year old girls are bound to be annoying sometimes. Hang in there because you know that each day will get better. Try to take some time to relax - listen to music, have a bath, do something nice for yourself. Love, Anna

Hey Goneriding, I am really proud of you. As Anna says it aint easy but you are doing it! That is bloody great. As for feeling like your daughter is doing it on purpose i know that one. I gave up smoking recently and my 12 yr old son wound me up unbelievably. There were moments when i actually believed that he was trying to make me smoke. On reflection i can see that the situation was getting out of control/esculating because i was all over the place and reacting to him more than usual. I probably would have been better off putting in him his room at that time too. ![]() Hang in there lass and vent as much as you need. Warmest wishes, Evanna.

good for you on stopping drinking. Just "try" not to take it out on your daughter. When us Mom's get edgy, we tend to take it out on our kids, in a way. I know how ya feel about her doing it on purpose, but I think kids feed off our stress, tention & so on... Best of luck to you...Keep up the good work!
