Happy Thanksgiving

Ladies,

Have a happy thanksgiving, I will be working thanksgiving day. my family will be getting together which is great. I know that there is also going to be drinking going on. I decided to take myself completely out of the situation I dont want to be triggered in any kind of way. My family has not really acknowledged that I am in recovery let them tell it I can have a drink or two. Thank God I know that one will never be enough!. I just wish I was at a point in my recovery where i did not have to work to avoid being around alcohol i could just know that I would say NO and enjoy the family. I also at the same time wish that my family would respect the fact that I cant drink and decided that there should be no alcohol there at all. (yeah right)!. The bigger picture is that I have come to far to let any thing jeopardize my sobriety and just for today I have decided to not join them for thanksgiving and maybe I should be thankful that I have made the decision to take myself out of a situation that could be slippery for me.

Happy turkey to you to. Who would have ever thought I would be celebrating a third sober Thankgiving. What a blessing it is. I thank God for allowing me this chance to be sober and to be thankful for all I am recieving.

Happy Thanksgiving All.

We are going to my brother-in-laws house in Delaware for the first meal, then leaving there and going to my sisters house in South Jersey for MORE. (also to pick my families polyanna). Then off to the Thursday night meeting, which every year on Thanksgiving is a Gratitude meeting. It is also my sponsor's homegroup and our best friends homegroup so we get to spend some time with our NA family as well.

You all enjoy your day, and don't fall too deep into that turkey coma.lol
