| Been really tired lately....
It seems like most of this week I've been exhausted, and I really haven't done much. I only work 30 hours a week, but every minute I'm off of work all I want to do is sleep. I have to be at work shortly, but just taking a shower seems like a daunting task. Has anyone else experienced this? Any ideas on getting my energy levels up again? I'm sure stress has a big part to play in it, but I can't just sleep my problems away...but then again I just don't have the energy to do anything else. I slept 10 hours last night, I've only been awake 2 hours and I already feel like taking a nap before I go to work. Then when I get home I'm tired. I only work five hours a day, so I shouldn't be this worn out. I'd appreciate any advice on how to feel human again...lol. lisa |

Stress, emotions, etc can be a huge part of our levels of fatigue. But sometimes we overlook the obvious things like our physical health. Diet and physical exercise can play a big part too in our levels of energy. Do you have healthy eating patterns? Exercise? Also you may want to have blood work done: check on iron levels, etc. Nothing like being border-line anemic to zap your energy and make you feel draggy all the time. best, GF |

Actually, i am anemic...and come to think of it I haven't taken my iron pills in several weeks. I guess that could have something to do with it...lol. I swear, I really forget to do the simplest things. I think I should've been blonde.

jpc, One of my health problems was anemia. I went to the hematologist, and he recommended an iron infusion. The iron is put right into your blood stream through an IV drip. Within about 2 weeks of getting it, I felt great. I had more energy than I knew what to do with. I actually started making my bed everyday because I knew I wouldn't be getting back into it. Another thing I have learned is the more you sleep the more you want to sleep. Try setting a schedule for yourself, and when you fell like you want to lay down, push yourself to do something constructive. Developing healthy sleep patterns is just as important to developing recovery patterns. Once you start sleeping soundly at night, you may need less sleep during the day.

As I've been getting healthier recovery-wise, I've been looking at all the ways I minimize myself, don't value myself, don't take myself seriously enough. Four weeks ago I marked on the calendar the day I said I'm going to start taking my iron supplement regularly. In 3 months, I"m going to have my blood tested again -- I want to see if I'm improving. I think it's all part of learning that we're important enough to take care of. Seriously, thoughtfully, lovingly. And follow through. best, GF | |

I'm NO doctor by all means, but I use to get to feeling like that, and for me it was a mixture of depresstion, & emotions, & bordem (of not getting high anymore) so I went to a dr & got on some anti-depressants & I feel so much better, ( : but that's me)Hope you feel better soon!

AAARRGGG! I was so determined to get up this morning and do something. I woke up, stayed up for an hour or so, then went back to bed. I have got to quit sleeping so much! My bf called and found out I was still sleeping and he's really ticked off cause the house needed to be cleaned. sigh. Hell of a way to start the day...again...

My drug of choice was cocaine and extasy...um, and meth, and pain pills...god, no wonder I'm so screwed up...lol. I'm trying to avoid the doctor, I don't have health insurance and all three of my kids' birthdays are within a month of Christmas, so I'm really trying to save as much money as possible. But if I still feel this lousy after the holidays I'll definitly go see the doc. Dragon- I've always had a problem with oversleeping when I'm depressed. I'm sure they have some sort of program to assist low-income families with medication, but I keep sleeping the day away instead of really researching it...lol. Oh, and I love your quote! I'm a huge Godsmack fan, went to see them last year and am hoping to catch them again in November when they tour with Metallica. They put on an awesome show. |
