Welcome LearningMama!

Ringo - praying that you feel better soon!

My injury is recovering much slower than I would like, however, I did manage to do some stretches, free weights and walk on the treadmill

I hate the thought but if this injury doesn't improve soon I just might have to see my doctor

I hope everyone had a great day!

Hey Sistas

I bleached my teeth this morning, ate healthy all day and took my vitamins.... don't want to gain weight since I can't workout. For the last few days I've been working in the office, creating spreadsheets on data for our accountant. Ugh...never ending! Finally got everything done and sent the info off to our accountant...DONE!

Anna- Welcome back! I think I remember you saying that you were going away but I wasn't sure when you would be back. Glad you had a great time! You were missed! Yes, still waiting to hear back on the proposal. We actually submitted early. If we get the account, we won't take over until Oct., hence the long wait.

MW- Glad you got a walk in today. Thanks again for the info on the mask. I'm going to go online and place an order over the weekend.

Ringo- I hope you feel better soon. Get some rest and relaxation.

Helen-Hope you enjoyed your pancake lunch. Sounds yummy...I might have to make blueberry pancakes tomorrow morning.

Glimer- The wedding should be a lot of fun! Hope you have a blast!

Barbs- Glad to hear that you're going to visit your son. I'm sure he'll feel much better to have his mom with him.

Welcome LearningMama!

Well ladies...I'm off to find something to watch on Netflix. Have a wonderful weekend all!

Hi Ladies!

Just wanted to pop in, meet you, and say hello! Today, I got up early, made lovely coffee, paid my bills and washed every article of bedding in bedroom! I bought healthy food and finally told my sister the truth about my drinking! I convinced her that I really have a problem, and although this was hard, my soul needed to tell someone! This was the most important thing I did for myself today.

I read this real fast and thought it said you used your electric toothbrush for 45 minutes! haha. The yoga must have felt great.

WRandi- I am glad you confided in your sister. It can be hard for them to accept it. I am 14 months sober and my mom is just now getting it when we bought some truffles the other day she only got one of the alcohol kind! For her.

Barbs- that is great you were able to get in some stretches and light walking.

CreativeThinker- blueberry pancakes sound great. My husband wants bacon and eggs.

Good morning Sisters!

Welcome Learning Mama and Wrandi

Wrandi saying it out loud to someone else for the first time is hard to do but I find it keeps me accountable. My mom didn't want to believe I had a drinking problem when I first told her, but now that I have been sober for nine months she tells me I am a much happier and nicer person with more patience for others lol

Welcome back Anna! I'm glad you had a lovely visit with the grandkids.

Midwest I imagine you have beautiful skin. I really should start doing facemasks.

Bekindalways I'll bet all your yoga helps to keep you feeling agile. I am very stiff when I've been sitting and that is probably from not moving enough.

CT and Barbs I hope you get some relief from your injuries so that you can get back to normal life.

Gilmer enjoy the wedding this weekend!

I've been spending lots of time in my sewing room (yes I know you are all shocked lol) and my current project is trying to get a good fit in a pair of pants I made myself earlier this year. They were a little bit big in the hips when I first made them but every time I wear them I think they look worse. Well it turns out I've lost an inch and a half in my hips in the last six months - all from not drinking! lol Because I haven't been dieting or doing any extra exercise it never occurred to me that I may have lost weight. So I am making adjustments to some of my clothes. Now I really can't go back to drinking or nothing will fit me anymore

Enjoy your Saturday ladies

Thanks Helen- I do try and take care of my skin. A older gentleman at church told my Pastor he has known me for years and I haven't aged at all and I keep looking younger. Pastor told him I was just like Dick Clark...he doesn't age and I don't either. lol. Anyways I thought that was a pretty good compliment.

congratulations on losing weight and the clothes fitting better. I think that is the best kind sometimes the scale doesn't show it but the clothes are more comfortable. I think that is neat you do all that sewing. I am sure that comes in handy.

I haven't done anything yet but make bacon and eggs. I am going to do a hair mask and get dressed soon. I need to exercise too.

Helen, what a bonus, to be losing weight, feeling better and being healthy!

MW, that's a lovely compliment. I tend to brush off any compliments coming my way and that's something I always have to work on.

I've been to the grocery store and I am cleaning the floors. My treat to myself will be to walk to David's Tea and find something exotic. I tried Blackberry Blizzard which is an iced tea and it was very tasty and refreshing.

Anna- I agree it can be hard to take a compliment. I have never thought about that before. I will have to give that some thought. They can be easy to brush off. I really don't like hearing them in a group setting. Mainly because I feel it could make other people upset they didn't get noticed or hurt them. I hope you enjoy your walk...the tea sounds like a great idea!!

good job Candie....I need to do that too.

I did exercise. I did abs, arms, and legs...then I went to the gym and did the elliptical and I walked a mile. I worked up a good sweat. I took my vitamins too and had cereal for lunch.

Now I think I am going to read.

Welcome Wrandi - congratulations on confiding in your sister. It must be such a freeing feeling to not have to hide this secret anymore.

Bekindalways - I can't wait to get back to my regular routine of yoga. Right now (while I am recovering from my injury) I am only going once a week.

Helen - What an added bonus it is when the weight just falls off Good thing you are so handy that you can take in your clothes as needed.

MW - So nice to get such compliments, one of the perks of taking such good care of yourself Glad you got your exercise in. I can't wait until I can work up a good sweat again.

Anna - I love trying new teas. Right now my favorite tea is ginger turmeric.

Candie - I need to clean up my bedroom before my husband comes home from his camping trip tomorrow. I kind of hope he gets home late so I can get everything just so.

Today I finished assembling my patio set. It looks so beautiful on the deck.

I also found a new stretch today that has already greatly improved my injury. I am hoping for continued progress. I was beginning to get discouraged.

Happy Sober Sunday Ladies,

Beautiful day here today. I made myself a cup of coffee and took my vitamins. Yesterday DH and I drove to Cape Cod and stopped at a fish market on the pier. There were all sorts of seals feeding off the pier, fun to watch. We bought some fresh fish and homemade candy to bring home and went out to lunch in the small tourist town, Chatham. Today we are going to make fish stew with the fish we bought. My hope is to begin getting some exercise of some form, as my hip flexor feels a bit better.

Welcome Wrandi & Candi!

MW- It's nice that you were complimented on how great you look. I can relate to feeling a bit uncomfortable when receiving compliments. Bacon & eggs sounds good. I doubt I'll be making pancakes as I consumed a lot of calories yesterday.

Barb- Glad you found a stretch that made your injury feel better. I know what you mean about feeling frustrated after being set back by an injury.

Anna- Enjoy the exotic tea and your walk!

Helen-Congrats on your weight loss. I love the feeling of how my clothes become larger after losing a few pounds!

Enjoy the day sistas!

CT, I love Cape Cod. It's one of my favourite places in the world. I love being there in May or September when the beaches are empty but the weather is still good. I need to go back.

I'm heading out for a nearby street-fest with lots of music and good food. It's a beautiful day, so should be fun.

it sounds like everyone is enjoying their weekend. I love to hear that. It is a beautiful day here.

Barbs- I ordered some ginger turmeric tea & some get relaxed tea today.

I made biscuits and gravy for lunch and I took my vitamins. I went to church which was great.

DH has been drinking the last few days and it has been rough but not a lot I can do about it but not get sucked in.

I may skip the gym today...I feel tired.

"Thank you" is a complete sentence! (Who knew?)

Welcome Learning Mama, Wrandi and Candi. Great place to be with wonderfully, supportive women.

I enjoyed reading all the posts since Friday. I take a break from technology on the weekend except for minimal work that needs attention. This doesn't include TV! Gotta have that.

Had a good weekend although I ate a heavy lunch yesterday and am basically paying for it today. You know that heavy, sluggish feeling... Something I don't get from clean protein and salad!

Today's "one thing" includes exercise, a partial cleansing, salmon & salad for dinner, and going to OA tonight.
