| First Meeting Jitters I went to my first NA meeting tonight. It was great! It was small,I liked that becauseI felt nervous. That quickly subsided when everyone gave me a hug. I've never been hugged so much! The man who chaired was an older man with a big, sweet smile and a raspy little voice, I could hardly hear what he said. I could tell that they were happy to have a new person. I really just wanted to sit and listen and take it all in. I wanted to hear some people tell stories. Most of them have been clean for many years and they were the most inspiring. I really feel like I made the right choice going to that meeting. I felt out of place at first...but soon all of that fear melted away because I knew I had taken the first step to getting my life back. Thanks to all of you who talked me into it. BIG HUGS!! P.S. I got my white chip!! yippee!

Jozetter what a beutiful recovery story. Its stories like this that keep me coming. I am so glad you had a good experience making it easier to go back. Heck maybe you can greet new comers or make the coffee they have jobs you can do and it keeps you coming. Way to Go. Also I think it is a wise descision at first to just sit and listen. Some say for the first ninety days. I got such a good feeling from your story. Thank you for sharing with us your good experience other new comers need to here this. Thanks again and welcome to SR.

Joszette, Nothing beats a hug!! Keep coming back, and you can be the one giving the hugs to the newcomer as they come in. Or even to the old timer who is struggling.
