| Thank you
I just wanted to say thanks, I have been reading posts here for about 2 months, since I wrote the post, How do you know? I wasn't sure if I had to quit drinking. I just wanted to say I admire you guys. You are going through some tough times and you are being so strong. I started drinking when I was 16. My parents were getting divorced, dad didn't pay for anything for us. I went to work to help my mom. I thought I was grown up enough to pay bills, I could do what I wanted. Thank god, my mom put 16 years of common sense into me, and I kind of knew where not to cross the line. years of fun partying went on, got married. Kind of grew up a little. Got my dog, had a daughter, started to grow up even more. still drank on occasion, too much of coarse. Had my son 4 years later, husband got a good job so I could stay home, (I babysit). Bought a house, things are going good. Until this year. My dog died, I started to get depressed. Started drinking more.....Our bills are adding up..11 years of marriage, and 2 kids I guess we can all understand...I spent alot of our savings on our dog... Now my husband gets hurt at work. Savings is way down, His pay is cut in half. He is waiting to see if workmans comp is going to cover his surgery. I got a part time job on top of babysitting, and I am selling my plasma for money....( Hey, its money!!). I just can't believe how life can change in the blink of an eye. I just wanted all of you to know, I figured out drinking is not going to bring my dog back or make me feel better. I have not drank since the last weekend in July. I have made it through this husband injury thing cocktail free, and I believe its because I have been inspired by you guys here. Hopefully things will work out for my family, I am trying to stay positive. I have been through the no money thing when I was younger, I just didn't want that for my kids.....anyway, I am done feeling sorry for myself. I just wanted to say thanks... |

Hi Shelby, The SR bunch is truly an inspiration bunch! I hope that your problems with your husband's injury are resolved and congratulations on stopping drinking. I used to think I always had to drink to get through any crisis, but I found out, I'm stronger than I thought. Love, Anna
