Picked up my 60 day chip!! - SoberRecovery : Alcoholism Drug Addiction Help and Information

Well, I did it, i went to another meeting last night & picked up my 30 & 60 day chip! Yippe Kyyaaaa!! I did it! I'm going again tonight at 8pm, I think I found my home, besides this place of course!!!

I've been clean & serene for 60 days & when you go to a meeting (NA) at the end they call out who had clean time, and if it's you yougo up & pick up a keychain that say's "clean & serene for 60 days" or however long you got clean time...my advice to you is go to a meeting anD LEARN LEARN LEARN LOL

Sounds like recovery is working great in your life. Isn't it just the best feeling going up and getting that coin or keychain. It is such a feeling of accomplishment. One well deserved. It helps give you strength to move even further day by day. I am so very proud of you bf you are getting a true sence of recovery going to the meetings too. WOW. This is such a good post to read today. For me sometimes I need to see recovery working to help me through a day.

Tell me butter did your daughter go with you. If so its a great thing for her to witness. Your progress, your strength, your battle. I do honestly believe letting our children know at an appropriate age does help them understand the dangers in drugs and the power it has over us. I filled my daughter in at six yrs. old. Not detailed but they were my get better meetings. At nine now she knows more I have told her a few stories not the gory ones but ones that might help her make very important descisions if she ever comes accross the temotation. I explained my overdose to her. I did this because my sister showed her a pic of my on life support when she was three.She told my daughter I put needles in my neck. Can you imagine. Well last year I sat her down and told her the truth. The dr.s put the tubes and needles there however mommy did do bad stuff and it almost killed me. I was very sick and almost died. I think she really is starting to understand the danger in drugs. She is nine and I seen nine yr olds dealing around here so better she know now. I would love to protect her and be by herside every day of her life but I can't If I can give her just a few tools for her to carry along the way it may just save her from a lifetime of misery. I am still working through things I have done. Some things will be with me always. I don't want to see her go through it as well. Wow what brought all that out. HMMM. So hows butter today?
