Red face Sisters

Hey everyone

I have a younger sister - her name is Jen. We've always been in touch but have never been close. Thank God for my sobriety, thank God for the 12 Steps - we are building a relationship based on mutual respect, love and trust and I am just so grateful to have Jen in my life today. I always felt like a fish out of water with my family, but that's slowly changing. I feel so comfortable with my sister, and we have meaningful talks, and we help one another. What a gift. Just wanted to share.

Love Rowan

Rowan,

You're right. The gifts are endless as we continue to grow. It always surprises me too when things are going so well.

Love, Anna

Thats sounds great. I myself have a sister a yr and a half older then me. We have never ever been close. She goes out with one of my ex's and has a kid from another. I am sure you understand where I am going with this. I have tried numerous times to have her as a sister but its like we are to totally different people with two totally different outlooks on everything in life. It makes me happy to see sisters get close or who are close. I crave that but I know I will never have that. Hold on tight to it. Its truly a blessing.

My sister and I have never been close, so it is so sweet to hear your post. I told my sister last week that I am in NA and going to meetings and she said at least I'm getting help, unlike my mother who died an alcoholic. I felt kind of embarrassed telling her but I had to start off somewhere. I hope we can get closer as my recovery continues.
