a clean 4th weekend..and happy about it

Good afternoon ladies
Well we had a good fourth..Just me and the kids and sons g/f..
We went out for dinner since hubby is soooooo picky about his grill!!!
I didnt want him growling about how we didnt clean it right when he gets back..blah blah blah..LOL We had alot of laughs..I caught myself havin stinkin thinkin..then my daughter would do somethin silly and pull me back!! It seemed like the few times i would drift off she would do somethin..I believe it was my higher power helpin me through!!!! I took g/f home then we went home and watched a movie..well me and d/d did..It was called cold mountain..It was different but very good!! How did everyone elses 4th go??

I had a clean fourth too. I cooked a nice spicy chicken stew to keep my mind off drinking, then watched the Cubs beat the White Sox. Then I saw some fireworks from my balcony, so it was nice quiet and peaceful.

I was blessed to have a sober 4rth. myself.
We went to the dog park here and had BBQ with other doggie people.
We could see the fireworks and allwas good.

We also just watched that movie "Cold Mountain" and enjoyed it.

Here's to being sober...

It is so good to hear you made it through. This is a very tough holiday for many in recovery or trying to seak recovery. So many people I passed were drunk falling all over. I must admit I thought of a cold one once and the thought vanished. We got slushies and that tasted better. I had a great weekend burnt extra crispy though OUCH! but I will live.
