Hi Greenbird, Welcome to SR. This is a good place to come for support and understanding. I surely do remember how hard it can be to get through one day. But, just take small steps. Go for one hour or even one minute at a time and you'll make it through the day. Hang in there and keep posting. PM me anytime if you want to talk. I'm on and off the computer through the day. Love, Anna |

Thank You for responding for help. My husband just told me everybody keeps telling him to leave me. Hey!! I pay all the bills he does not work. This is one of my problems. I Love him and I keep trying to hang in there, but he now has 8 years sobriety and I can't acheive 1 day. Greenbird |

Have you ever been into a clinic? Or had some help with this? I'm only 4 years sober but I've understood just a little bit i.e.resentments,what it does to me if I let it.It used to take over my life-drink on it.hell, I drank on anything,to get rid of the feelings. Keep posting.. Tiger |

Okay so this time do something different. First I would suggest clearing your environment of temptation, if you want to drink you are going to have to go get it. Get it out of your home, work wherever it is. I have managed to stay sober one day at a time with a 12 step program, this is what works for me so this is what I can share with you. Go to AA, put as much effort into AA as you put into drinking and you will stop. Get a sponsor, work the steps to the best of your ability and when you are done, work them again. Rid yourself of all the baggage that we carry with with us. Rid yourself of all the excuses that you use to drink. That is what they are you know, excuses. Yes we have a physical addiction and a mental addiction to whatever our drug of choice is. but today for me using or drinking is a choice that I make. So far with the help of my higher power that I call God, I make a choice each day not to use or drink. You need to make that choice too. I am not saying it is easy, cause it isn't, but it is a choice and only you can make it. So do something today that is different than yesterday. make the choice not to drink. Surrender and reach out for help, you are not alone.
