My son came home for the weekend

LOL, my son came home with his laundry and to eat. OK, so he drove with a buddy for 4 hours to do this. He wants to take his computer back to his dad's camp, but the electric is not hooked up???????? I'll try not to read into this too much, but am very glad to see his stupid self! I almost cried when I saw him,but would not give him the satisfaction of having me in tears. Lucky I was taking the girls out... I told him I wish he would have called before he brought a friend over, but other than that I kept my cool. He was asking permission to do his laundry (he left it ofcourse for me to do,but my husband is doing it saying it's my mother's day gift ?) duh, I say leave it for my son to do and get me a ring or something buba! My son also asked to take a shower (he looks rough) and I gave him money to go eat. I have yet to do the food shopping being depressed and all (we are talking 2 days of not shopping) and i had nothing to feed him or his buddy after driving all that way. So... just seeing my son is a real gift eventhough I want to smack him at the same time. O lord (inside joke), my husband just came back from the store and brought me a lotto ticket. Perhaps I'll win enough to get a ring and a nice vacation! LOL, I hate scratch offs, but at least he was thinking about me... I'm off to go tan and buy food.... O and I did a few rides at the carnaval, the girls won prizes,so all in all it's been a great day full of surprizes!

Hope your a winner Zoom! I'm glad your son surprised you, and you got to see him, sniff him, hug him and see he was all okay. It was a quirky gift, but still a gift!

Re: My son came home for the weekend

Zoomer,

Seeing your son is really a cool mother's day gift! And, he's doing okay and things went alright while he visited. That's super! I love your husband doing your son's laundry as a mother's day gift - that's funny. But, he is thinking about you, isn't he?

Love, Anna

Re: My son came home for the weekend

ugh Chy, I'm not sniffing that dirty boy LOL... It looked like he did not take a shower for days! TY Dot and Anna, I did not win on the stupid scratch off of course, but I feel happy all the same. I fell asleep last night in tears missing my older children,so today is a blessing! This is real stupid, but I love to do my son's laundry (except for when he left his cup in his jock strap) and I love to cook, but everyone is being very picky these days,so it's all been about fast or frozen food. It's real stupid to,but it's really good that my son asked permission. I take it as it means he is at least showing some sort of respect... Something that he needs in this world to get along in and to show women! If he treats his mother like crap, then he is going to treat other women that way too. I have not asked if he has been partying, I don't care because he is not living with me... (Detatching from the situation),it's just a small step in our relationship that is changing so much. No dilusions from me thinking he is going to change, not smoke pot or go back to school this year. What is done is done. He has a rough road ahead of him screwing up so bad with school, but we all screw up from time to time. I'm just glad that he was able to come back for what ever reason and be nice to me and by me doing his laundry (or my husband) he is asking us if we still love him and wants to be taken care of like a kid again. Remember he could have asked his Dad to do his laundry while he did his at the laundry mat... Each one of my children have me do the "mom thing" that makes them feel loved or taken care of. I too have a "Mom thing" that I need to do in order to feel like I'm taking care of my kids. Like the clipping of the nails and washing of the hair. My girls can do it on their own,but no can do it like me. Same with my son's laundry. My other son first thing he asked me is to go take him to get a hair cut,my 13 year old daughter likes it when I buy her wierd things and send them to her and clothes too. She only ask me for certain things not her Dad or St. Mom. My baby boy likes it when I wake him up in our fun way and crys whe his dad wakes him up. Enough rambling, you get the picture... So any little bit I'll take it right now from my 18 year old even his dirty clothes, he is still asking for mommy to take care of him and that mother need in me is being taken care of too, then he can go back to his Dad's and be cold up at camp and be bord to tears with out electric or a computer!!!

Re: My son came home for the weekend

Zoomer hugs to you girl for being able to sniff your boy like Chy said. (after his shower of course) I am glad I am not the only mom who likes to wash her son's clothes. My boy came home Thursday night with his dirty clothes it is always a pleasure to do this for him. Zoomer I am very happy that you got to see your boy. My prayers are with you and your family. Take care of yourself.

My son came home Thursday and went back to his apt. today. He was sober for both nights that he was home. Thank God. I think that DUI scared the drink out of him.

Re: My son came home for the weekend

Zoomer, I was looking around on the web for a poem to e-mail my mom when I ran across this one. I thought about me & you cleaning our son's clothes.
The part about giving the kid a pill sort of made me nervous. It should have said medicine instead. Happy Mothers day.

What is a Mother?

A Mother has so many things to do,
From washing, ironing, cleaning to tying a shoe.
She scrubs, she mends, she cooks and sews,
She bathes the children and washes their clothes.
When they forget to wash their faces clean,
And their clothes are the muddiest you've ever seen,
Who repairs the clothes and scrubs them like new?
Of course, that is what a Mother will do.
Who becomes the doctor or the nurse when they are ill,
Applying a bandage or giving them a pill?
Who becomes a teacher when a child has homework?
She must never her duty shirk.
Who becomes a detective to find a toy or a book?
For missing things she must look and look?
Who becomes a listner to every heartache,
To every accompolishment that a child makes?
Who scolds their children when they are naughty,
Or remind them of God when they are to haughty?
Who tends her family with love and patience, too?
Of course that is what a Mother will do.

Janet,

That would be great if your son really learned something from the DUI experience! I often think about him and I pray that he has turned a page in this journey of life.

Love, Anna

Re: My son came home for the weekend

TB, that poem was great!!! Ya, I could have done without the pill part too LOL!!! (((((Dot)))) LOL, my girls hate when I do their hair and nails or at least complain the whole time! It's a wierd day that's for sure. cold and rainy out and kind of stay in bed day. My husband and younger kids made me coffee, brought me the paper and brought me breakfast in bed. My older son at the same time was moving his junk out,but at least he ate breakfast and said happy mother's day. I asked him if he was going to come back for a visit,he said in the summer... I said give me a call sometime,he said OK and off he went. No fuss no muss no tears no fights. A clean break this time. For that I am greatful! O' Dot on SRF, you have lots of adopted Mom,aunts, sisters and friends. We can only give you cyber hugs and cyber thoughts, but at least for me having you a part of my life makes it richer and I hope the same goes for you too!!!

Re: My son came home for the weekend

LOL Dot, I tell my girls "beauty know no pain" and us girls just have to suffer Mr. Snarly Tangles because he loves girl's hair. Hey Dot sometimes when my girls scream at me I give the tangle an extra tug Most of the time I try to be gental and I buy every detangler on the market for them. I use to cry too when my mom did my hair. I think it's a girl thing... For fun I put nail polish on them if they are good and let me cut their nails without a fuss. I let my 8 year old brush her teeth now without my help, but the 7 year old still needs some helping and my son is a wild pony when I try to do his teeth. At least I know he is getting tooth paste in his mouth everyday with floride Good news is that my other son called me today and my daughter sent me an e-mail. So all my kids got in contact with me today! Huray!!!
