My life is soo busy! - SoberRecovery : Alcoholism Drug Addiction Help and Information

Gosh, I have been busy busy busy, just on the go, non stop it seems like! I've been doing community service at a homless shelter, working in the cafeteria, it's quit an experience I might say! But I'm really enjoying doing it, I was suppose to go (originally) to an animal shelter & I was like, ummm, ya I LOVE ANIMALS and all, but NO WAY can I even step foot into one of those places, I'd be in tears, & just feeling sooo bad for all those dogs & cats, I'd end up takeing half of them home w/me I'm sure! hahaha! I can handle seeing a person behind bars, but an inocent animal...NO WAY!!

Then on Tues & Thurs nights I've been going to classes to get my GED! something I've dreaded for ever! But I'm doing,. & hey maybe someday I'll be a counseler (for adolesents) <--my dream someday. That's what I wanna do, help the kidddos.
Well there's still alot more going on in my life, but right now I'm sooo tired, i'll finish this up tomorrow..just wanted to touch base with my cyber sisters!!

Butterfly,

Wow you are rocking on! I feed the homeless on sunday mornings and yes it is quite an experience! Lots of room for blessings thats for sure! And woo hoo on going back for your GED! That is so great. I know a lot of people who say they will but they don't. And you are DOING IT! Have a great Easter and get some rest!

butterfly you are an inspiration!! so are you dot!! i am always amazed by how loving and giving the people on these boards are. you will get your dream butterfly...and dot you rock as always.
i did animal rescue for 10 years very actively. i never thought i could go into shelters etc. but i did! i still do some rescue but not as actively. i have a big fat orange cat that needs a home if anyone is looking! i still go to shelters... i figure at least the animals will know someone loves them. so i walk around petting and telling them. i have found volunteering helps fill the hole i used to fill with addiction. i love helping people and animals.you both have inspired me to get off my behind and do more! thanks
