I can't believe it!

I got offered a place at university!!! I really didn't think that I would get in, partly because I didn't want to get my hopes up and partly because I doubted that my application was good enough.

WOOHOO!

Amy

Amy,

Congratualtions. That is terrific. I assume you going to accept? What will you be studying and can you say the name of the university?

Thanks everyone, you've been a great support to me.

I will accept the place offered even though its not my ideal course. I'm not exactly sure what will suit me best, so its good that I'll be doing a general course (Arts) for at least the first year and takes a bit of pressure off having to decide. I want to feel my way around this and see what fits best before I choose a path and Arts is good for that.

Maybe after the first year I'll have a better idea of what I really want to do and get the GPA to change course.

I'll be going to Griffith Uni but its in Australia Juls so I don't think you'll know it.

Amy,

Just a suggestion, but when i was in college, as soon as I would know what my schedule of classes was, and go immediately and buy my books. I never waited until the beginning of the semester because almost always there would be some books that had been sold out already. Also I would start reviewing the books and get a jump start on the material. I maintained a pretty good gpa all during school, and i think that was one of the things that helped me.

I agree that a gen'l arts major is the best course for the first year, so you get your feet wet and then get an idea of what you want to major in.

Thanks everyone!

Juls, thats a good suggestion and I am really excited to see what I'll be doing.

I was just thinking, I could really use some of my traits in study. My perfectionism will come in handy, I could even use my obsessiveness and I can stay up studying all night if I need to, I don't sleep anyway. Thanks to AA, I'm not afraid to ask anyone for help, even authority figures. I can admit that I don't understand something and ask for clarification and I can speak in front of a lot of people. I think I've met just about every kind of person in society through AA as well, so can handle that too.

The best part is that in my application I told the absolute truth about myself, for the first time in my life, and it actually helped me! I feel really proud about that.

I can't wait, its going to be so cool meeting people with the same interests and I love learning.

Amy
