Got my results... - SoberRecovery : Alcoholism Drug Addiction Help and Information

...from the aptitude test today. Well, to those who said I would suprise myself, it sure was a suprise! My strength has always been with verbal rather than math stuff, but I only did just above average on verbal but way above on math. How strange.

Anyway, my overall mark is good enough to get me into any uni and is better than almost 80% of the people who took the test which is pretty good I guess. I can tell you my heart dropped though. But I re-read my meditation post here about self-esteem and I realised that my perfectionism blocks my ability to embrace the talents that I DO have. I think I am more street-wise than academic and that's cool with me.

Now all I have to do is get into uni, which is now going to be a lot harder than I thought because there are others who have things like "qualifications" and "employment history" but it sure has been an experience so far.

You Are awesome Amy, just like the other girls have said, and we love you! That's great to do above average on math. I am the same way, very strong in verbal, but when I took a pre-nursing test a few years back I scored really high on math and science. I was surprised and said it was an "accident"...but you know, we are all so much brighter and capable than we ever realize....You deserve to believe in yourself. I know it's uncomfortable, but I think you are great..and I know you will do amazing in anything you study or work at.(((((((((((((((((((Hugs)))))))))))))))))):bluer ose

Thanks everyone.

I think I am way too hard on myself! I did need a really good mark though because of the competition but this has helped me to feel ok about myself in a whole new way. I could never have even applied for the longest time. I don't know why, but sometimes I still want more, more, more.

Silly really, I did my best and its a good score.
