LOL ladies, I can never win! I thought this PTA thing turned out well, but found out a lot of people complained about it because the lines were too long to wait in to shoot baskets. Anyway, I never done this turkey shoot before and no one had a clue as to how it was ran except for one lady who did write notes for me. We could not give out the prizes on that night because they were food items and the winner would have to stay 3 hours just to hear if they won. So I was told to annouce the winners on Monday and hand out the prizes that night at the PTA meeting. All but 5 prizes were givien out. I had the winners announced on the loud speeker and sent a note home with the kids to ask the parents to please pick up the prizes that night because they could not be saved due to it being food and all. Well, I got phone calls saying they just got thier note (and I'm thinking "you should have checked your kids backpack the night before") I got sob stories on how the parents are going through a divorse and how they forgot to check the childs back pack. I said I'd talk to the PTA ladies and see if a gift certificate could be handed out to them, but honestly, they needed to check in the kids back pack or the kids needed to tell their parents about how to pick up the prises and the PTA should have had a better way to deal with all this. I said I'm just a volunteer and a parent and really not in charge of anything! So, I guess everyone was complaining about the turkey shoot and here I thought it turned out good considering LOL. I'm a fool! No wonder that one b---- was smurking at the meeting and she came up to me and was very sarcastic. It did not dawn on me then that everyone was complaining! Lesson learned that I will never do s-it again for the PTA. If people cannot stand beside others who are helping when it's a school fuction, then it's a place i don't want to be. And here I thought I was making progress in this stupid town!

Hi Zoom, I bet the PTA turkey shoot went a lot better than you think it did right now. And, wherever you are, whatever you do, there are always those who will be negative. Maybe they are threatened or bitter, but always negative. Take pride in the fact that you participated and helped make the event a success. Hugs and love, Anna |

Oh Zoom, it sounds like a tough time for you. I spent a few years with my husband just home on weekends and I really had a hard time. It was so much with teenagers, job, house stuff and always being the 'bad guy' with the kids. I don't envy you. Just try to remember 'Don't sweat the small stuff...and, it's all small stuff'. Hugs and love, Anna |
